Cato Rooryck studied English and Dutch literature and linguistics at Ghent University and is currently studying literary studies at KU Leuven. As part of her internship at GEMS, she helps with GEMS’ social media and website. She wrote her master’s thesis on ‘the power of language and the problem of the absolute’ in Shakespeare’s plays, and is currently working on a project on the reception and adaptation of Shakespeare in postcolonial contexts, such as Australia and/or South Africa, particularly in relation to Indigenous cultures.
