Nele De Raedt

Nele De Raedt (Ghent, 1988) is an assistant at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Ghent University. Since november 2012, she has been preparing a PhD on palace-architecture in fifteenth century Italy under the supervision of prof. Maarten Delbeke. More specifically, the focus of her project concerns practices of violence (defilement, confiscation, destruction) of palaces, as well as the possible implication of such practices for contemporary architectural theory. From January 2015 to June 2016, she worked as a research fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence in the research group on Ethics and Architecture, with Brigitte Sölch, Hana Grundler and Alessandro Nova. Since spring 2017, Nele is also an Editorial Board member of Architectural Histories, the open access journal of the EAHN.
